Short Biography:

Kathryn is a fourth generation member of the famous Read Bookmaking family.

Kathryn obtained her bookmakers licence in 1999 at just 21 years of age; she was bestowed Racing Victoria’s 2001 Racing’s Young Achiever Award and in the same year named AAMI Victorian Derby Ambassador.

In 2002 Kathryn was announced the winner of the Telstra Business Women’s Awards in the Alcatel Young Business Women’s Award category, and a National finalist.

Kathryn was the First female Bookmaker to work the Melbourne Cup’s ‘Call of the Card’ event held at Crown Casino in 2003 and was the face of the Telstra’s Women’s business awards promotions in 2004

Readbet was established by Kathryn in 2006 making her Australia’s first female sports and racing bookmaker.
